Some of the less invasive wrinkle reducing treatments that provide a temporary improvement in fine lines and unwanted folds of the face with little or no down time are injectables such as Botox®, Dysport®, Jevederm®, Perlane® and Restylane®. They diminish fine lines known as crow’s feet, frown lines, Marionette lines, & nasolabial folds giving you a smoother, more youthful appearance. Botox® & Dysport®
Botox® & Dysport® are made of purified medical grade toxin that temporarily stops muscle contraction & prevents lines or wrinkles. Botox® or Dysport® are usually used to diminish lines between the eyebrows, on the forehead, or the crow’s feet lines around the eyes. One application may last from 2-6 months. Dr. Smilovits recommends treatment with Botox® or Dysport® every 4-6 months to prevent tolerance.
Restylane® is a non-animal substance (hyaluronic acid) that was approved for use by the FDA in February of 2004. It is a substance normally found throughout your body. It fills in folds & makes appearance of skin smooth. Restylane® has been used throughout the World for over 7 years with little side effects. It works great for our patients. Reportedly Restilane® lasts for six to nine months; many people are getting another injection in about 6 months. Restylane® is an ideal solution for softening the lines between nose and corner of the mouth – nasolabial folds as well as for lip enhancement to achieve fuller more shapely lips.
These non-invasive procedures are performed at Dr. Smilovits’ office with little to no down time. Dr. Smilovits is known to be a very gentle injector. Most patients experience only occasional faint bruising and are back to their normal within days.
Perlane® and Juvederm® are also used by Dr. Smilovits. Perlane® provides patient with an extra .20 cc volume per syringe and together Perlane® and Juvederm® reportedly last for up to a year.
